Last August, the new Auburn Research Park recieved news that Northrop Grumman will be locating a National Work Force Center there.  Northrop Grumman is opening several National Work Force Centers around the country as a cost-effective way to provide high quality technology while still remaining US based.

This announcement was a victory for the Aubrun Research Park, which is the product of a partnership between the Industrial Development Board and Auburn University.  They had hoped to draw large, technology based employers into Auburn.  City officials, including Mayor Bill Ham, Jr., Chairman of the Auburn Industrial Development Board Dr. Paul Parks and Alabama governor Bon Riley were very pleased to have Northrop Grumman locate in Auburn.

“We welcome Northrop Grumman to our city and the research park.” said Dr. Parks after learning of Grumman’s decision.
