Baltimore’s colleges and universities contribute $17.2 billion dollars to the local economy every year. This information was featured in a report by the Baltimore Collegetown Network, which is comprised of 16 public and private colleges in the region. All but one school contributed to the report.
The cost of the expansion and renovation of the John’s Hopkins Hospital has now reached the 1 billion dollar mark. John’s Hopkins is one of the best medical centers in the nation, and has been needing renovation for a long time. The project is slated to be completely finished in early 2011.
