Economic development updates for Columbus covering recent months include:

Hexicon Specialty Chemicals, Inc., headquartered in Columbus, has been offered an almost $6 million dollar tax credit to expand operations.  Columbus is in competition with Texas for the expansion.  The expansion would create over 200 new jobs over three years.

Red Roof Inns, Inc. might be expanding their Columbus operations.  The company has been offered a 50 percent tax credit to expand their headquarters in Columbus.  The project would create over 80 new jobs.
