Economic development updates for Raleigh from recent months include:

Optimal Technologies is relocating their headquarters from Calgary, Alberta to Raleigh.  Optimal Technologies develops technologies to help businesses and utilities optimize energy usage.  The relocation will create 325 new jobs.

BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical developer, has relocated their corporate headquarters to Raleigh.  The company will be hiring more employees during this year.

Nextreme, a manufacturer of micro-scale thermal and power management products for electronics, has moved and expanded their headquarters in Raleigh.  The new center is state-of-the-art and much larger to handle increased demand. 

INC Research Inc. is expanding in Raleigh.  The company, which performs development programs for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, will invest $19.2 million into the community over four years.  The expansion will create almost 1,100 new jobs during that time.
