Here’s a news tidbit related to our last post – one of the recent bright stars of American based manufacturing has been Toyota – several of their plants have boosted employment in mostly southern markets around the country.
Toyota has announced today that they will delay the opening of their Blue Springs / Tupelo, Miss. Plant to at least mid 2010 given concerns over the economy. The plant is still under construction and construction will apparently be completed on time.
Toyota announced last week that its annual sales dropped for the first time in nine years and its profit is down for the first time in seven years.
