Economic development updates for Harlingen covering recent months include:

Subsea 7, a Norwegian subsea engineering and construction firm, is building a pipe assembly plant.  The plant could bring as many as 100 new jobs to the area.  The plant could attract offshore oil and gas companies to the area.

Kohl’s Department Stores recently opened a new store in Harlingen.  The new store will create 130 new jobs.
