We’ve had a slew of questions and comments emailed in since our post Monday regarding our upcoming market data list release we have planned.

The leading name being debated by the team currently is “Redfish Emerging Markets’ Big Book of Market Data”; the debate rages and will soon be settled by the team.

There is a drive among our less data-wonkish team members to trim the categories to something in the range of 80 data points instead of over a hundred.  The point they’re making strongly is that while the analytical view of real estate market data is of great interest to us, we need to make sure that we’re providing data that is both interesting and useful to active real estate professionals and investors, not overly “researchy” as per one of our younger team members.  (Makes you wonder if they’re still teaching the English language in college these days, doesn’t it?)

The size of the document might be a bit cumbersome and expensive to print and mail, so we’re leaning toward formatting the piece very professionally in Adobe’s In Design and then creating a PDF that will be electronically mailable, eliminate the pass through expense of printing, and easily stored and manipulated on a hard drive or storage key.

Most of the questions we’ve received in the past 48 hours have been focused on whether or not we plan to provide market by market rankings of our proprietary Market Fundamental Scores in the document.  The short answer is yes – we will provide both the multifamily and single family Market Fundamental Scores for the top 25 markets in each category.  We also plan to include the top 25 markets in each of the 5 main Market Fundamental Score subcategories for both multifamily and single family asset classes.  Previously that information has been available only to our newsletter subscribers and report utilizers; we’ve never before published the subscore rankings by market.

More details tomorrow.
