Economic development updates for Biloxi covering recent months include:

Steelmaker ThyssenKrupp is building a steel plant in nearby southwestern Alabama.  The plant, scheduled to be completed in 2010, will employ 2,700 workers.  Over 29,000 construction workers are building the plant.  Officials project up to 36,000 additional indirect jobs will be created for the region when the plant opens.
