
Don’t know what it’s like around your office or home today, but we’ve run out of gas in terms of dealing with the news this week. That said - here are a couple of somewhat interesting odds and ends from the day.
Barry Ritholtz over at The Big Picture has posted a link to an article / forum posting by the former head of commercial appraisals for Indy Mac, Mr. Vernon Martin. Appraisal fraud and misbehavior contributing to the housing mess has been kicked around a bit in different venues, and if you believe it has been done eggregiously, then you’ll be emailing links to your friends saying “See, I told you so”.
On a more encouraging note, David Ranson - head of research at HC Wainwright Economics - has written a bit more lighthearted, encouraging op-ed in the WSJ today. His piece is titled “Economics as Metaphor“, and is a worthy read if you haven’t seen it already today. The beehive pic was inspired by a metaphor he provides….
We’ve had enough and a couple of us are headed up Hyalite Canyon just south of Bozeman to fly fish this evening - have a safe weekend and have some fun.
