Ball State University’s “2008” National Manufacturing and Logistics Report Card” was recently released, and Rhode Island along with six other states received an “F” for its manufacturing climate. Rhode Island ranked 45th in Forbes magazines recent annual ranking of the best states for business, though KPMG gave Providence high marks for competitiveness and rated RI among the top regions around the world for R&D spending per state GDP.
