Economic development news from the past several months include an announcement this past April by Governor Paterson of a redevelopment plan for the Kennedy Square Apartment Complex in downtown Syracuse.  The redevelopment effort was announced to kick start other private development efforts including the New York State Biotechnology Research Center as well as state of the art classroom, office, and medical research space for SUNY Upstate Medical University.  Well over $70 million has been set aside by the various agencies to being the projects.
