Economic development updates for Houston covering recent months include:

Lockheed Martin Corp. signed a lease for office space across from NASA’s Johnson Space Center.  Lockheed recently was awarded a contract to build NASA’s new Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle, making proximity to the space center a priority.

According to figures recently released by the U.S. Department of Labor, Fort Bend County, on the Southwestern edge of the Houston region, had the highest annual percentage increase in employment in the nation.  Compared to last year’s figures, Fort Bend had a 7.4 percent gain for 2007.

Zoyto Inc., offering call center services and fulfillment solutions, is doubling their operations space.  Next month, the company will occupy a 101,000 square foot building in North Houston.
