Flagstaff led the state last year in per capita income growth.  The nationwide average for major metropolitan areas was 5.1 percent from 2006 to 2007.  Most Arizona communities had growth rates between 2 and 4 percent.  Flagstaff posted the highest per capita income growth rate with a 6.8 percent increase.
