Economic development updates for Ann Arbor covering recent months include:

Ford recently announced plans to retool a sport utility vehicle plant in nearby Wayne.  The renovated plant will be producing compact cars by 2010.  Due to several factors, the automaker is focusing on small car production.

BASF, a global chemical company, is building a new manufacturing facility in Wyandotte.  The new facility will house manufacturing, administrative and R&D operations.  When the plant is completed, it will create over 175 new jobs.
