Economic development updates for Odessa covering recent months include:

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin recently began construction of a new Science and Technology Building.  This new 120,000 square foot facility will include faculty offices, several lecture halls and more.  The new building will bring in more faculty and students when it is completed.

Schlemeyer Field’s, the Ector County airport, long awaited improved runway was completed this summer.  More than ten years of planning went into the 6,200-foot runway.  The improvement is important because it now allows corporate jets access to the airport.  This feature will help attract new business to the area.
