Economic development updates for Grand Rapids covering recent months include:

DornerWorks, an avionics company, has recently greatly expanded their workforce.  Since the start of the year, the company has filled 23 new positions, which was initially projected to require three years to accomplish.  The company plans on becoming a national provider next year, so more growth is sure to follow.

Precision Aerospace Corp., a local aircraft supplier, is expanding.  The $10 million expansion will upgrade and increase the equipment at the firm, and will allow the creation of 60 new jobs.  Rising fuel costs have led to higher demand for lighter, more fuel-efficient aircraft and engines.  The company plans to add another 130 employees over the next decade.
