Last Friday in our Daily Data Discussion post we took a look at the markets around the country with the highest average Class B multifamily unit price per door values.  As noted the highest ranking markets were significantly above the average.

Today let’s take a look at the markets with the lowest Class B multifamily PPD values in the nation.  As with the data presented last Friday dealing with the highest Class B apartment price per door values, today’s Class B price per door values are a real eye opener in terms of how low these unit prices are.  Interestingly of the five markets listed today, three are in Texas and two are in Louisiana - both states with fairly robust economies (relative to the remainder of the country), consistent population growth, and healthy (for the most part) multifamily markets.

As noted last Friday, The data is provided by the brokers and property managers that we interview in each market, and is averaged when divergent values are reported.  It should be noted that the values reported are asking price valuations.

Here are the markets in our database as of today with the lowest multifamily Class B price per door values –

1)  San Antonio, TX  $38,100
2)  Shreveport, LA  $45,000
3)  Harlingen, TX  $45,000
4)  El Paso, TX   $47,500
5)  New Orleans, LA  $50,000

Database Average:  $95,441
Database Median:  $75,000

We’ll be back tomorrow with a look at the markets around the country with the highest single family home affordability indexes.
