Recent economic development news for Chattanooga includes –

Don Jackson has recently been named president of the new Volkswagen production facility being built in the area.  Construction plans call for the new production facility to be completed in 2011, and enthusiasm continues to run high for the multiple jobs the project brings to the area. 

Additional announcements include a $20 million dollar expansion by Unum and Memorial hospital has recently announced plans for a $300 million expansion which will create hundreds of construction and later healthcare jobs.
