We’ve just posted the state by state employment growth rankings for November on the Free Resources page of the website – download the free PDF here

As always rankings are provided based on the 6-month rolling average of total non farm employment growth (annualized), provided monthly by the BLS.  Data is available through the month of October.

Of interest –

  • Wyoming continues to lead the pack with a blistering 2.9% 6-month rolling average of total non farm job growth; they reported a 3.3% growth rate in October.
  • The top five states remain Wyoming, Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Louisiana.
  • Despite the doom and gloom that you hear in the media, nine states had total non farm employment grow in October as compared to September’s revised values; another eleven states growth rates remained stable from September to October.
  • The average of total non farm job growth for all states in October was a sobering -0.2%, and the average 6-month rolling average for all states is 0.2%.

We’ll have more commentary regarding the data posted over the next several days – we’re on the road today and will be back in home territory tonight.
