Economic development updates for Chattanooga covering recent months include:

Earlier this year, Volkswagen announced plans to build a new plant in Chattanooga.  Scheduled to be operational by 2011, the plant will manufacturer Volkswagen vehicles, including a new sedan designed for the North American Market.  The move will create at least 2,000 new, direct jobs.  Volkswagen hopes to sell 800,000 vehicles in the US by 2018.
