Economic development updates for Waco covering recent months include:

L-3 Communications, an aircraft company, is expanding their Waco operation.  The new $10 million hanger will create over 100 new jobs.  The hanger will be used for modifications on military and civilian aircraft.  Construction should be completed by late spring of 2009.

Caterpillar will open a parts distribution center in Waco sometime in early 2009.  The center will employ between 140 and 160 people.  Sanderson Farms recently built a new chicken processing plant in the area.  The plant created almost 1,300 new jobs for the area.
