I know we’re late in posting this information today; we’ve had a couple of hot potato issues with multifamily foreclosure properties that we’re after today, and we’re still running to compile data to defend our offer position on one.
Based on data through November of 2008, BLS has released state by state total nonfarm employment growth numbers today. Click here for the free PDF ranking all states by their 6-month rolling average of total nonfarm job growth, and a look at the month to month trend of the November data.
Wyoming and Texas continue to have blistering rates of total nonfarm job growth at 2.8% and 2.1% respectively (blistering relative to overall national conditions), and the top six states all can boast of growth rates of 1.0% or better. Total nonfarm job growth improved in only five states and held steady in only three more comparing November to October; that leaves forty-two states with lower total nonfarm job growth – ouch.
A whopping twenty-five states have a negative total nonfarm job growth 6-month rolling average – impressive.
We’ll have more to say about the data over the weekend.
