While most ports across the nation are seeing a drop in steel imports, some Texas ports are seeing more steel imports than ever.  Beaumont is one of those ports.  At the end of the fiscal year in August, the port had moved more than double the amount of steel as the year before.  Energy projects that require pipes are the driving force behind the imports.
