Economic development updates for Corpus Christi covering recent months include:

Taijan Pipe Group Corp. is planning to build a $1 billion pipe plant in Gregory.  The plant would produce seamless casing pipes from scrap metal.  The pipes will then be used in oil and gas wells.  The projected economic impact of the plant is staggering: a $2.7 billion direct impact and $327 million in salaries over a ten year period.  Up to 300 new jobs will be created when the plant opens, with an additional 300 jobs added in the first three years.
