Economic development updates for Pittsburg covering recent months include:
Medial Sensors Technologies Inc., a medical devices firm based in Germany, recently opened an office in the Pittsburg area. The new office will handle the development of an ophthalmic device for improved glaucoma management. The company hopes to launch the product in 2010.

Hooven-Dayton Corp., a label and flexible packaging manufacturer, was recently awarded a Minority Business Direct Loan. The company will use the money to purchase a new printing press, increasing their production capacity. Over 10 new jobs will be created.
